Campsite Wadenhoe Scout Campsite
The Site
Wadenhoe Scout Campsite has fourteen acres of ground and is situated to the west of the River Nene. The site is a green field campsite, which has a large wooded area. Wood fires are encouraged within the designated camp fire area, with wood supplied from the site's wood pile. Mains water is supplied by a tap located within the camping area. The campsite also has a fenced off cess pit for waste disposal, located at the edge of the camping area.

The River Nene, in normal conditions, is classified as B1 water and Canoeing, Kayaking and Traditional Rafting is permitted. These three activities are subject to the Adventurous Activity Permit Scheme and the correct ratio of Permit Holders to participants must be provided. Swimming in the River Nene is also permitted subject to the requirements of POR Chapter 9.48 - 54 and Factsheet 120620 being complied with. These requirements are quite stringent.

The site also can accommodate other activities, such as Rifle Shooting and Archery in the large activities area.

Caravans can be brought on to an adjacent site (Stretton Close) although 3 weeks notice will be needed as requested by the Wadenhoe Estate Manager.

The site is available to members of The Scout Association and Guiding UK, and subject to the approval of the Management Committee also to Schools and other properly constituted organizations. The campsite and facilities are not available to the general public, although there is a public footpath that runs along side the camp site.
