Nene Valley District Scout Council

Nene Valley Scout District was formed on 7th June 2005 as a result of District boundary changes within the County. The District is made up of 11 Scout Groups and 4 Explorer Scout Units from the former Rushden District, and 3 Scout Groups and 1 Explorer Scout Unit from Rockingham Forest District. The new district boundary matches that of East Northants District Council, Northamptonshire. The new District name complements the geographic location of the district as most of the groups are situated in the valley of the River Nene, which can be seen in our Groups section.

Scouting provides an opportunity to develop leadership and team skills through camping, adventurous activities and travel.

Reefknot is a project set up to promote scouting in Nene Valley District. Its aim is to provide information to the district through the World Wide Web, in a simple and straightforward way. Once complete reefknot will be used to allow the young people of the district, the opportunity to publish articles, individually or in teams, for badge work or their own personal development. The website will contain lots of useful articles written by the leadership within the district as well as information on each section in scouting.
